Georgian Rectory

Our clients gave us a year exactly to create a new interior throughout, sympathetic to the roots of their 18th century rectory. We began by stripping back the existing rooms to the original walls and reinstating architectural details such as panelling and appropriate fire surrounds, skirting and cornices befitting for a fine Georgian house. The brief was to create a family house that looked like it had evolved over generations. It was not to look new, nor like a museum, rather it had to be comfortable, elegant, with lots of character but not over fussy. We will introduce fine pieces of furniture from our bespoke range such as the Chamberlayne bed for the master bedroom, and the Regency Sofa and Scottish Ottoman for the drawing room, along with sourcing beautiful antiques and bespoke lighting. We will inject colour using hand printed fabrics, French silks, hand dyed French linens, antique carpets and painterly wallpapers.
