A Spanish Cassone Circa 1700
An early 18th century Spanish Cedarwood Cassone, the rising lid decorated with a run of three simple concentric circle motifs, the underside with three panels of poker and penwork decoration of a court figure flanked by hunting scenes, all surrounded by a repeat leafy garland, cherubs, lions and more court figures. The underside of the lid in particularly bright and original condition. The front of the Cassone with three panels, again of poker and penwork decoration depicting various allegorical scenes. Circa 1700.
