Important George III Four-Poster Bed

A fine and important George III mahogany four poster bed attributable to Gillows of Lancaster. The canopy decorated with classical medallions and scrolling foliage on a simulated satinwood ground; raised on giltwood spheres over a pair of tapering fluted front posts terminating in a bold rectangular panelled lower section raised on waisted feet and with upholstered head and footboards. Circa 1810.

Please note. The canopy is of recent manufacture, being a faithful copy of the original design.
