Early-18th Century Regence Commode
A provincial but highly sophisticated Regence commode, in true country house condition. Much-cherished, it has developed a lustrous patination. Enhanced by complex geometric veneered patterns to the fronts and sides. All done in a combination of kingwood, tulipwood and fine burr walnut. Having its original ormolu mounts and handles, its escutcheons lost in antiquity. The top in fior de pesco (peach flower) marble. Pure French romance.
